ABOUT MINA:

Mina is a precious little girl recently rescued from an orphanage in Eastern Europe who is now finally home with her forever family! She had been without a mother or father to love her & care for her each day. No one to rock her, kiss her gently or tell her she's loved. She is blessed with an extra chromosome known as Down syndrome, which for her that meant a life of being viewed as worthless in the country she was born into & a life without hope. Because of this her parents gave her up at the age of 6 months when they found out the diagnosis & from there her life progressivly went down hill. We are the Gower family residing in OKC who recently adopted this little angel. She was extremely malnourished and unable to do just about anything when we first met her. She will be 2 in January & is the size of a 3-6 month old weighing 14lbs. She continues to amaze us at how quickly she is progressing with love and nutrition. She has learned to sit up, roll over, feed herself finger foods, hold her own bottle and loves to interact with toys and other children. Her life has changed so much in such a short period of time and will forever be changed! Thank you Lord for putting a burden on our hearts to rescue this little blessing and making her apart of our family!

Yesterdays Visit, NY pizza, walking, Myla on the phone

Sorry I didn't get around to a post yesterday.

So here it is:

We had a great day of visits with our little girl. We played outside quite a bit today. Mina is reaching a lot more for toys even to the point that she is trying to lean forward to sit herself up to get them. We still have to assist her and give her a little push but she is really trying.

It is confirmed that she is a HUGE daddy's girl. She want's to watch him and have him hold her all the time. She has been reaching for him. Jim gave her to me while we were headed back to take her to her room and she immediately got pouty lipped and looked up at him with her pretty blue eyes and reached for him making noises to get him to take her back. :) Of course she won and daddy got to carry her back as she watched me over his shoulder walking behind them. Just wait till we get home and she spends everyday with me :) JIm of course loved it and his heart certainly melted.

So this morning when we went to Mina's room to pick her up this is what we saw: This is the same little boy that always wants to walk out of the room and gets in trouble.

It is so sad. He just wants so badly to be noticed and loved. I wish I could just pick him up and hold him. It breaks my heart. I hope and pray that a family will come for him soon!

When we brought Mina back to drop her off from the morning visit the girl that took her ended up running her head into the door as she was walking back into the room. That made me so sad. Mina didn't even cry.

The only time she really ever does cry (a little) is when we are walking around with her and then we decide to sit down. The first 15-30 sec she will fuss about it and then she gets happy again!

Here's the pics:

She looks like a little chemo patient with the shaved hair and bandana.

Myla thought everyone needed a hair-bow and she gave one to Mina. Of course she just put it directly in her mouth. Mina only has 1 tooth in and has been teething.

Myla is always wanting to carry around Mina's bottle for her and she wants to be the one to give her drinks when she is thirsty. Thankfully she doesn't ever try to drink out of it :) She will carry it back to the room and give it to the caregivers when we take Mina back. Such our big helper!

Snuggling with daddy

Laying in mamas lap. She was a tired girl today

Her spine sticks out really far and is so bumpy cause she has no meat on her bones. She has a few sores on the back of her head u can see also. Poor girl

In between visits we met up with the other family here from Oklahoma and we had lunch at a New York pizza place. It was actually really good and tasted about like pizza back home. We had a great American lunch (Pizza, fries, and coke :) LOL After that we walked around, looked at some street vendor stuff, went into some shops and happened across the market we went to the other day so I bought some more yummy peaches.

Play areas for kids. You pay to buy them time to play in these blown up toys. They are everywhere and it is so cheap. It's like $1 for 15min. Myla loves them.

Movie theatre. To bad there not showing anything in English

At the market~ tons of chickens everywhere

Home at the apartment ready for bed after a long day!

Oma wanted me to post these of Myla talking to her on the phone so she could see them. The first one she falls over and bangs her head so we had to pick up the rest of the conversation in the 2nd one.

She is telling her to hold on a minute and then telling her sorry for holding phone went out. Lol princess is her puppy back home.
When did my little girl get so big?

This is so funny. She has to stop her conversation to Oma to go ask daddy to stop tapping on the table because it was bothering her. Hilarious!

Talking to papa Bo. At the end she wanted to see what I was videoing so she was done taking.

Which little boy is he? I'd love to advocate for him!
