ABOUT MINA:

Mina is a precious little girl recently rescued from an orphanage in Eastern Europe who is now finally home with her forever family! She had been without a mother or father to love her & care for her each day. No one to rock her, kiss her gently or tell her she's loved. She is blessed with an extra chromosome known as Down syndrome, which for her that meant a life of being viewed as worthless in the country she was born into & a life without hope. Because of this her parents gave her up at the age of 6 months when they found out the diagnosis & from there her life progressivly went down hill. We are the Gower family residing in OKC who recently adopted this little angel. She was extremely malnourished and unable to do just about anything when we first met her. She will be 2 in January & is the size of a 3-6 month old weighing 14lbs. She continues to amaze us at how quickly she is progressing with love and nutrition. She has learned to sit up, roll over, feed herself finger foods, hold her own bottle and loves to interact with toys and other children. Her life has changed so much in such a short period of time and will forever be changed! Thank you Lord for putting a burden on our hearts to rescue this little blessing and making her apart of our family!

Exploring

Myla ready for outdoor adventures!

Today has been a great day!! Our SDA appt went great, we took a long walk in search for TGI Fridays and the Red House restaurant. After walking what seemed like forever carrying a 2 yr old up and down steps during the heat of the day we decided to turn around and just go back. We went to the cafeteria at the mall and ate some lunch and gelato. Then went back to our apartment where Myla and I took a long nap :) while Jim went and searched for wifi.

We've been told lots of places that have wifi but for some reason aren't having any luck finding them or the many places with wifi that we've found for some reason it won't let us join there network on our phones or on our computer. Not quite sure why. We have tried McDonalds, Kpum, Mc Foxy, and Double Coffee. Our best luck we've had so far has been walking along the street and finding wifi spots and standing there to post our blog posts :) of course it's to hot to stand outside to do anything else. Maybe if we can find TGIF then we can sit and email some people back and read the comments written.

We called Serge and he said that we are about a mile from TGIF (Maybe we just didn't walk down far enough.) We will prob try tomorrow but our legs are currently sore and tired :) Us out of shape Americans that drive everywhere we go :) LOL

This evening we went and looked at some beautiful churches, buildings, architecture, Gold domed monastery and went to a park. Myla had so much fun swinging and playing for a bit. We got some sort of crepe like wraps filled with cheese, meat and spices. They were really good!

Places we bought our dinner from.
