ABOUT MINA:

Mina is a precious little girl recently rescued from an orphanage in Eastern Europe who is now finally home with her forever family! She had been without a mother or father to love her & care for her each day. No one to rock her, kiss her gently or tell her she's loved. She is blessed with an extra chromosome known as Down syndrome, which for her that meant a life of being viewed as worthless in the country she was born into & a life without hope. Because of this her parents gave her up at the age of 6 months when they found out the diagnosis & from there her life progressivly went down hill. We are the Gower family residing in OKC who recently adopted this little angel. She was extremely malnourished and unable to do just about anything when we first met her. She will be 2 in January & is the size of a 3-6 month old weighing 14lbs. She continues to amaze us at how quickly she is progressing with love and nutrition. She has learned to sit up, roll over, feed herself finger foods, hold her own bottle and loves to interact with toys and other children. Her life has changed so much in such a short period of time and will forever be changed! Thank you Lord for putting a burden on our hearts to rescue this little blessing and making her apart of our family!

Full of love & smily face

Well I must say I am quite ready to get out of this apartment. I think I have watched about every chick flick movie we brought along with us and I hadn’t planned on watching hardly any movies while we were gone…. But it sure got boring sitting here all day long. I’m feeling a slight bit better today but my tummy issues still aren’t better enough to get out. I’m hoping and praying by the morning I will be able to go see our precious Mina again. I sure do miss her plus I hope she’s not forgetting about Myla and I. She’s going to be even more of a daddy’s girl now :) This afternoon Jim met Julia and went to the Anteka (pharmacy) to get me some medicine that should help.

I sure am so thankfully grateful for my wonderful husband and man of God for his love, care, and willingness to tackle everything and go to each visit alone while we haven’t been feeling well. Baby, if you are reading this… Thank you so much for all you do! You mean the world to me and are the greatest husband ever! I truly couldn’t do any of these things without you and I love you so much! Plus thank you for getting up with me in the middle of the night to pray for me! You are such a wonderful husband and daddy!

Today Jim went and spent the day with our little Mina while I once again stayed back home with Myla. They played in the ball pit and walked around outside. Mina also got to ride on the merry go round thingy all by herself! I would’ve never been brave enough to try that with her yet… that’s definitely a daddy thing :) There’s a precious video of it below.

Our Oklahoma friends had court yesterday and everything went great for them adopting their twins. We are so excited and happy for them!
