ABOUT MINA:

Mina is a precious little girl recently rescued from an orphanage in Eastern Europe who is now finally home with her forever family! She had been without a mother or father to love her & care for her each day. No one to rock her, kiss her gently or tell her she's loved. She is blessed with an extra chromosome known as Down syndrome, which for her that meant a life of being viewed as worthless in the country she was born into & a life without hope. Because of this her parents gave her up at the age of 6 months when they found out the diagnosis & from there her life progressivly went down hill. We are the Gower family residing in OKC who recently adopted this little angel. She was extremely malnourished and unable to do just about anything when we first met her. She will be 2 in January & is the size of a 3-6 month old weighing 14lbs. She continues to amaze us at how quickly she is progressing with love and nutrition. She has learned to sit up, roll over, feed herself finger foods, hold her own bottle and loves to interact with toys and other children. Her life has changed so much in such a short period of time and will forever be changed! Thank you Lord for putting a burden on our hearts to rescue this little blessing and making her apart of our family!

Waiting Waiting Waiting...

Well we are still awaiting our fingerprint appointment.  A few days ago I finally got sick of waiting and checking the mail so I picked up the phone and called the USCIS department.  I was transfered to our case worker who said she has everything (which she's had for 2 1/2 weeks already) but she hadn't even looked at it yet.  Grrrr.... So much for rush delivery.  Anyway she said she would get us a fingerprint appointment scheduled and that if we don't get it in the mail within a week call her to remind her.  Really.... what's that supposed to mean. So incase she forgets to get it in the mail remind her?  Wasn't I just reminding her then when I was on the phone with her.  Needless to say I am waiting as patiently as I possibly can all the while thinking our precious girl is over there possibly crying needing to be held and loved and all this is just slowing up the process.

I know God's timing is perfect and he has a reason and plan for all things.  So I will trust in knowing that and try to be as patient and proactive at the same time.

So hopefully here in the next few days our fingerprint appointment will arrive in the mail. I pray it will be a quick turn around in getting in to get them done and that the process of the USCIS getting us our i-171h form so our dossier can be headed overseas.

Please pray for patience, and for there to be an extremely quick turnaround so that we can be headed to Eastern Europe as soon as possible!!

Thank you all!!

Sending prayers Melissa that you get your appt quickly and approval right after that! I just wish we were finally to this step but we are still on the homestudy as our agency is very slow and I have learned not very reliable, guess its our bump in the road of many

Tracey, Thanks for your prayers! We are sending prayers your way and that the process will speed up quickly for you all! Adoption seems to be a big waiting game and the worst part about it is most of it is out of our hands. God is definitely teaching me patience through all of this!
